An unassuming little Mexican place in an unassuming strip mall in Clairemont.  You would most likely miss this place because it's tucked in the back and doesn't have any flashy signs or colors.  That would be tragic.  This place really specializes in only one thing: cocteles del mar, which are glasses filled with delicious ceviche. Sometimes you can get a fish taco, but that's not an everyday offering.  La Playita is just a plain seafood counter with a few tables, but it might be the best ceviche in town.  They also have almost every variety of Mexican Hot Sauce you can think of.

I just had the most wonderful meal.  In April, Mr. P. told me this place was great when I asked him about it and I merely stored that tidbit of information.
I could kick myself for not going to La Playita sooner.  It is right up the street from Ba Ren, in the same parking lot as the Smart N Final on Clairmont Mesa Boulevard, in the back corner of the parking lot, closer to Limerick Street.

Bomb fish/shrimp tacos! No Joke. Their Ceviche is great too. They also have this beer thingy with spices on the rim of the cup, it is delicious.
